The Senior Client Insights Consultant serves as an advanced subject matter expert for data mining and predictive modeling projects within the Client Insights & Analytics team. The Senior Consultant leads development, validation, documentation, execution and measurement of complex statistical models, and works closely with internal clients to better understand the financial needs and behaviors of First Citizens Bank’s customers and prospects. The position serves as an expert with accountability for complex predictive modeling specialties and handles assignments with high degree of impact with minimum supervision.

Additional Requirements:
• Translate business partner’s needs into advanced analytics projects and prioritize projects based on expected tactical and/or strategic business impact to quickly achieve goals.
• Proactively define and manage analytics projects, including data identification/preparation and statistical analysis/model building to identify opportunities where analytics can optimize client experience and marketing efforts.
• Conduct annual model validations to ensure models are working as intended and verify if the existing validation activities are sufficient and effective.
• Develop predictive models to support client centric initiatives at various stages of the customer lifecycle including acquisition, response, activation, utilization and retention.
• Act as a resource for junior members of the team.

Position Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years statistical analytics experience in the financial services industry to include 1 year project management experience.
-Or-
Associates degree with a minimum of 8 years statistical analytics experience in the financial services industry to include 1 year project management experience.

Additional Requirements:
• 6+ years of experience in analytics, modeling or a combination of both.
• 4+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools.
• 4+ years of experience of analytical and modeling methods including binary and multinomial logistic regression, multivariate analysis, cluster analysis, time series analysis, and panel data analysis.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across functional areas around common goals and objectives.
• Effective Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel and Access).
• Strong communication/problem-resolution skills.
• Ability to think big picture when analyzing data and articulate conclusion from data analysis.
• Ability to present recommendations to management and prove ROI for projects and data analysis.
• Proven track record of interacting with senior management.
• Ability to present analysis, conclusions and recommendation to executives with confidence and professionalism.


Other Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree or higher in finance, mathematics, statistics or other quantitative field and 5+ years of experience in analytics, modeling or a combination of both.
• Strong background on logistic propensity modeling applied to customer level data.
• Demonstrated experience completing complex analysis across multiple lines of business.
• Ability to create clear and succinct documentations on modeling methodologies and results for audit trails.
• Experience working closely with Marketing and other senior leaders across the enterprise.
• Proactively identify business opportunities or efficiency improvements based on internal or external trends.
• Basic knowledge of relational warehouse or database environments such as UNIX, Oracle, Netezza or DB2.
