Position Description :
Support the accounts payable operations (processing $445 million in invoices annually) for First Citizens Bancshares and subsidiaries, covering 17 plus states.  This includes performing vendor due diligence and set up, preparing electronic files for upload, verification of keyed information; assisting with the Accounts Payable Close process, issuance and distribution of checks; performing general ledger reconcilements and analysis to support month end close.  Perform sales and use tax reporting covering 17 plus states.  Handle branch and department accounts payable inquiries and research accounts payable issues.  Assist with system upgrades, replacements, and troubleshooting.  Apply Bank policy and procedures to daily activities, demonstrating a solid understanding of GAAP, SOX and regulatory guidelines.  Assist with preparation for audits and special projects as assigned.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree with a minimum of 2 years accounts payable, accounting, audit, or financial services experience.
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years accounts payable or accounting operations experience.

Other Preferred Qualifications:
• Bank related accounting or accounts payable experience.
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
